Back Acne
The face is not the only place where acne appears. Body parts that have oil-secreting glands or hair follicles such as the back, and shoulder are also common areas. Back acne is also known as Bacne affects
more than half of people with acne.

Types of Back acne

  1. Pimples: Raised, tender, red elevated bumps. Also called papules when they don’t have pus. Pustules when they have pus.
  2. Nodules: Hard, large and painful lump underneath the skin.
  3. Cysts: Nodules filled with pus.

Causes:

  1. Genetics
  2. Hormonal: menarche, pregnancy, menopause, PCOS etc.
  3. Excessive sweating
  4. Side effects of certain medication
  5. Diet with a high glycemic index like bread, potatoes, etc.
    Tips:
    1 Learn the habits post-workout.
    -Shower aft workouts, change clothes ASAP. Don’t let the sweat sit on the back. Wear loose-fitting cotton clothes and sweatshirts.
  6. Avoid anything that rubs the back. Swap backpack with handheld bags. Anything that rubs
    the back can cause acne to flare.
  7. Keep hair off the back.
    Wash your body after your hair in order to remove oily residue left from shampoo, and conditioners. Hair products contain oil which when transferred to the back can lead to clogged
    pores.
    Wash sheets, towels, and pillowcases at regular intervals to prevent the transfer of acne-causing
    bacteria to your skin.
